A townhouse situated in the heart of the CBD, a young couple who enjoys entertaining with friends and also hitting the town for its nightlife were after a renovation to the lower level of thier home. The layout worked well for the pair but required storage and an interior that reflects thier own quirks and sophisticated styling.
The existing kitchen, unusable, with the only drawers that were too heavy to be pulled out, the kitchen looking untidy and worn with its dated colour scheme, needed a much needed transformation. The kitchen being the first thing you see as you enter the home, my clients required a kitchen that was not only functional due to its smaller allocated space in the home, but for it to be passed as a peice of furniture.
A pokey kitchen positioned under a staircase to the upper living required to deliver a functional living and storage for this townhouse that also wowed visitors when coming into thier home. Upon opening a traditional solid black lacquered front door, guests are welcomed with timber floors that lead to a central island clad in delicate white oak custom fluted panelling. A pill shaped island with wings for seating, Diamond Cream slabbed porcelain benches compliment the space and allow a smooth transition between living, kitchen and dining.
Warmth is bought into the home with its fresh new arrangements of colour. Warm white slabbed fronts, textured fluting with white oak also received in the hardware to the hidden fridge. Beige is introduced to the colour palette through the benchtops, honed Diamond Creme porcelain slabs cladd walls and elevate the high point of the stairs with its return. A beautifully finished home that my youngest couple will endlessly enjoy.
